Turkey Vegetable Soup

1 pk Premium fresh lean ground turkey; about 1 1/4 lb
1 c Onion; chopped
1 c Carrots; sliced
1 c Celery; sliced
6 c Water
16 oz Whole tomatoes; cut into quarters, undrained
1/3 c Uncooked rice
1/4 c Ketchup
1 tb Beef flavor instant bouillon
1 ts Basil; to 1 1/2 t
1/8 ts Pepper
1 ea Bay leaf


Crumble ground turkey into 6 quart saucepan or Dutch oven; stir in onion, carrot, and celery. Cook and stir over med high heat about 5 mins or until turkey is lightly browned. Stir in water, tomatoes, rice, ketchup, bouillon, basil, pepper and bay leaf. Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Cover, simmer 25-35 mins or until vegetables and rice are tender.
