Fish Chowder

4 large potatoes, cubed or sliced
3 medium onions, sliced
1 cup chopped celery
4 whole cloves
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. salt
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 (16 oz.) package frozen Flounder, thawed
2 cups half & half
1/2 cup white wine
1/4 cup butter
1/4 tsp. dill seed


About 50 minutes before serving: In covered Dutch oven or kettle oven medium heat, simmer potatoes, onions, celery, cloves, garlic, salt, bay leaf, dill seed, pepper and 1 cup water about 25 minutes until vegetables are tender. Discard cloves, bay leaf. Cut fish into large chunks. Add fish, 1 cup water and remaining ingredients to vegetables. Heat, stirring occasionally.
